Come and be a part of the Big Work. Join with others of like mind to raise our vibrations and blend our good intentions to create a Web of Light for healing the Earth. Our inner state of being is reflected back to us in the outer world, so the true work is learning how to change our thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs -- to maintain that higher vibration as much as possible. Doing this together is helpful to all.

We will be following the spiritual alchemical formula of "intention + union + love + focus + concentration + harmony + imagination = transmutation." We will meet on the first Wednesday of each month, starting November 7, in the RoseHeart Center classroom.

This is for everyone who is comfortable and able to journey and connect with your power animals/helping spirits. (If you have never journeyed but would like to be part of this Work, a Basic Shamanic Journeying course is being offered this Fall at RoseHeart.)

Red Tara Buddhist Reading Group and Mediation Session

with Jana Biesanz & Darryl Caterine
Sundays in February, March, & April

During each meeting we will discuss a section of a selected reading and then have a period of sitting meditation. Beginning meditators are welcome! In order to make the meetings as flexible for people as possible, readings will be short, copies available at the meetings, and generally consecutive, following the chapter order of our first book selection: Gates to Buddhist Practice, by Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche. His Excellency, Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche (1930-2002) belonged to the last generation of teachers to have been fully trained in Tibet in the vast wealth of Vajrayana teachings and methods. He held superb teaching lineages, primarily in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Vajrayana, which he taught unceasingly throughout his life. The main emphasis in whatever he taught was pure motivation. Currently, lamas he ordained teach and live at centers in several U.S. states and in Brazil and Uruguay.


Darryl Caterine is a historian of religion, and a Professor at Le Moyne college. Jana Biesanz is a writer and Adjunct Professor of Composition and Literature at Le Moyne. Darryl studied with Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche in the 1990s, and introduced Jana to the lineage in 2007.  Since then, we have attended teachings and studied with Lama Tsering Everest, Lama Padma Gyatso, Chagdud Khadro, Lama Surya Das, and Tulku Sherdor. Our interest in Buddhism led us to organize this reading group in order to formalize a weekly sitting meditation practice, as well as to meet other people in the community who are interested in discussing and learning more about Buddhism.
